Services offered by the Student Senate

The URI Student Senate, through the Student Organization Advising and Review Committee [SOARC], helps Student Organizations and funds programs. The Student Senate also offers free legal advice from a Rhode Island Bar Certified Lawyer. In addition, academic complaints and general complaints are addressed by the Student Senate as the representative of the undergraduate student body through the Academic Affairs and the Campus Affairs Committees. The External Affairs Committee works to ensure students are respected and well heard outside of the campus community and this includes advocating for commuter life and the rights of students beyond the University.

Finance Chair

As the new Chair of the Finance Committee on Student Senate, I have the great pleasure of aiding fellow organizations in promoting student activities to the benefit of the student body. As a former head of a student organization on campus, I realize that Senate could do a lot more to help its groups. If you or anyone you know has questions about how senate runs or the resources that Senate can offer, feel free to contact me.

I was the President of the Gay Straight Alliance, Secretary of the College Democrats, and the Senator representing the College of Engineering. At your service!
